Something New Sampler: Baby Quilt

This post is part of the Something New Sampler blog event. I'm showing different ways to set rectangular blocks. We're using 7.5" x 14.5" blocks (finished at 7" x 14"), but you can use the same ideas for any rectangular blocks you might have!

This baby quilt uses 4 blocks; a great project for those of you who don't complete all 9 blocks.

You'll add a 6.5" x 7.5" background piece to the end of each block:

Then add a 13.5" x 20.5" piece to each block unit:

Sew all four quarters together, and voila! This quilt finishes at 40" x 40". Find the cutting directions here.

Next Friday I'll share some ideas for small projects. It'll be the last installation of the Something New Sampler tutorial posts, then we'll just have some time to sew!
